Irene Gray
- The Colonsay Community Hall was pleased to present Brad Johner on Friday, March 9th. The whole evening was well received by everyone in attendance. The Hall Board wishes to thank everyone who came out. Brad was accompanied by his son Luke and his brother Ken. Brad was kind enough to take a look at our sound system although he brought all his own equipment. Brad is now doing all his own bookings and was a pleasure to deal with. He had many compliments for us and our organizing of this event and would come out again anytime!!

Colonsay Revitalization Committee
- Colonsay Revitalization Committee has been formed by interested citizens to enhance the positive aspects of our community. The focus this year will be the main entrance to town and the sign corridor.
To encourage pride in your community, we will be holding a clean-up day in April, please watch for a mail out with more details. There will be a free barbeque at the end of the day!
We are looking for more people to join our committee to encourage more input of ideas. We hope the work of this committee will benefit the community for many years to come. If you are interested please call Pat H.P. at 255-2118 or Darlene W. at 255-2363.
Colonsay and District Sports Center
The 2011/2012 season has come to an end. We have had a successful year and look forward to our next season. The Colonsay and District Sports Center Board for the next season consists of: Lee Heise, Jen Burns, Steve Brochu, Randene Udell, Jocelyn Palm, Brian Beggs Jr., and Joanne Brochu. Our curling committee members are: Tracy Fitzsimmons, Joyce Walker, Pat Peever, Erna Sander, Aaron Franson, Will Franson, Tracy Yousie, Joanne Brochu, Zora Zubko, and Andy McVicar.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank all those in the community who have in some way volunteered their valuable time to Our Sports Center and to all of those who have come out to support Our Sports Center activities.
Special thanks to Bruce Breckner and Shelly Matechuk for a job well done. To Dianne Breckner for supplying all the soup, Erna Sander for looking after the candy supply counter, Randene Udell and Randi Wood for Booth Convening and to our Board members who have done an outstanding job.
Thanks to Michelle Kirk and Faye Hobman for your two years on the Board and the abundance of time and work you have put into our facility.
Curling was a huge success this year. Now that the major capital project and work of the curling is complete we look forward to our next season and being able to concentrate our efforts in fine tuning our regular curling nights and bonspiels and spectator seating. Again thank you to all those who volunteered their time putting in the ice, painting, fixing the ice scraper etc. Thank you to Colonsay School students and Mrs. Moen who have worked hard to support curling in our community. Thank you to Pat Peever, Sylvia Richards, Dianne Breckner, Joyce Walker and Tara Schmidt for helping prepare the supper for the women’s bonspiel. Thanks to Aron Franson and everyone who helped carry the food upstairs to the rink and for assistance with clean-up. Thank you to the Hall Board for letting us use the Hall kitchen to prepare food.
Recognizing that our Sports Center can be used for different activities in the spring and the benefit of sporting activities to our Youth, the Board has decided to try something new this year. We will make available the use of the rink on Monday and Thursday evenings from 6:30 to 9:30 to community members who wish to hold any organized activity that is supervised by an adult. If you are interested in supervising or organizing an activity on one of these nights, contact Joanne Brochu or Faye Hobman.
